Mosaic reads all of it at 30× depth in a CLIA-, COLA-, CAP-, and AABB-accredited lab partner, and translates the variants into 108 lifestyle insights, not ancestry data. Are other Mosaic reports coming?

Yes. Pre-conception, GLP-1 response, and 30 clinical-grade SNP panels are in development for 2026. Every one of them runs on the same whole-genome data — no re-sequencing needed.

Can I share my report with my doctor or coach?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You own your data and your report — share it with anyone you choose. Many customers walk through findings with a Mosaic-trained practitioner or their existing functional-medicine provider. If your provider wants the full clinical-interpretation framework, they can request a provider account.

How do I order a kit?

Choose your option at checkout, complete the order, and we ship the at-home cheek-swab kit with a prepaid return envelope. No doctor visit required.

How do I collect my sample?

Accepted Answer

About five minutes. Wait one hour after eating or drinking, then firmly scrape the inside of each cheek for 45 seconds with the swabs included in the kit. Snap them into the vials, seal the bag, and mail it back in the prepaid envelope. Full illustrated instructions ship with the kit.

How long until I get my results?

About 15–20 days from when the lab receives your sample. We email tracking updates at each stage of processing. Your raw data and full report arrive in your Mosaic account at the same time.

Can I use FSA/HSA for Mosaic?

Accepted Answer

FSA/HSA reimbursement is often available — check your specific plan. Mosaic is not covered by insurance directly, but many customers submit out-of-pocket claims successfully.

What if my sample fails the quality check?

Accepted Answer

Every sample goes through a quality check before sequencing. In the rare case the lab can’t process your sample, the first reprocessing is free. If a second sample also fails, we refund your kit price minus a $20 processing fee. Lab-failure protection is one of the three protections that ship with every kit.

I already have whole-genome data. Can Mosaic use it?

Yes — that’s what BYOD (Bring Your Own Data) is for. If your data is a single-sample whole-genome VCF or an rsID-keyed genotype file, you can upload it directly. Create a free account, upload, and run Mosaic Reports on your existing data for $199.

Can I upload a 23andMe or AncestryDNA file?

Yes, with a coverage caveat. SNP-chip files cover roughly 600,000 positions out of 3 billion base pairs. Mosaic builds the most complete report your data can support and flags any insights gated by coverage. For the full 108-insight report, the Mosaic kit reads every position at 30× depth.

How does BYOD pricing differ from the kit?

$199 for the Lifestyle Optimization Report on uploaded data (any qualifying upload — WGS or SNP-chip). $895 for the full kit + sequencing + report. Both let you run every Mosaic report on the same underlying data.

Do you sell or share my genetic data?

Accepted Answer

No. Mosaic never sells, shares, licenses, or monetizes your genome. Not now, not ever. Your raw data lives in a HIPAA-compliant pipeline with pseudonymization and encryption end-to-end.

Do I own my raw genome data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Lifetime ownership. You can download your raw data from your Mosaic account anytime, in standard formats. Every future Mosaic report runs on data you already have. So does any other platform that reads standard genomic files.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. Request full deletion anytime via your account or by emailing support@mosaicbio.io. The Genetic Data Consent Notice (linked in the footer) covers retention, deletion timelines, and what happens to derived data.

Is the sequencing lab clinically defensible?

Yes. Sequencing runs at a U.S.-based clinical reference lab partner accredited by CLIA, COLA, CAP, and AABB — the same standards your doctor’s reference labs operate under.
